6/9/21 - This is a rare Mauser 1893 that is marked 'O.V.S.' on the stock and receiver for "Oranje Vrij Staat", which translates to Orange Free State. These rifles were used in the Boer Wars as they were issued to the Boer military at the turn of the 20th century. This example has all matching numbers, including stock, receiver, bolt, trigger group, rear sight, and even the matching cleaning rod. Original blue shows minor thinning in most areas, but some oxidation on most of the rifle. Includes period sling. Bore has strong rifling but is heavily frosted.
